March favourites – domestic goddess essentials & more!

Ella, baby and me

Here is a list of my March favourites, it’s a bit of a random list but these are the products that have brought me actual happiness this month….. let’s crack on with the list

YSL Mon Paris

I bought this perfume as I was recommended it by one of my besties. She always has a good nose for perfume and I’ve bought a few in the past just from smelling it on her! So wanted to treat myself in duty free and it was certainly a winner. Those that know me, will know how ridiculous my collection is and will know that hardly any of my perfumes look like they have been used. Reason being I buy it and after a few sprays I’m quite quickly sickened by the smell and move on. This is the very reason why no one buys me perfume anymore as it’s a “waste of…

Living with two under two… the crazy life I have created for myself!!

Ella, baby and me

Life isn’t exactly going to plan for me right now…to help me feel better; I say to myself that I have hit a small bump in the road and things won’t be this way forever. If I could go back and tell the 22 year old me, that in five years I will be a stay at home mummy to two babies, there is no way I would have ever believed it, no way I would stay at home and no way would I have two children so close together…. how stupid?! Why would I do that?! Anyway younger me, you did it and now you are facing the consequences, I am the mummy of a 21 month old little Madame and a 6 month old little man, and my god it’s hard. It’s not as hard as I imagined it to be when I was pregnant with my second, and…

Peppa Pig obsessed birthday party on a budget.

Ella, baby and me

It was my daughters 2nd birthday a few months ago, but I haven’t written a blog about it just yet. I’ve decided to as I’m really pleased with what we achieved in such a short space of time, and on such a tight budget. Now her party wasn’t pininterest worthy. But I did my very best to be as creative as I could and I must admit some of my inspiration was from pin interest.

Everyone seemed very impressed with the effort me and my partner put in. I come from a family where not much effort is usually put into birthday party’s apart from some balloons, a couple of sausage rolls and an Asda birthday cake; so to some of them, I’d gone OTT but i really do enjoy being creative and love to make my Ella happy.

Here are some useful tips if you are looking to create…

Expectation v’s reality of being a mummy!

Ella, baby and me

When I was pregnant with my first child Ella; I had so many thoughts swimming around my head, about the kind of mum I wanted to be, and the types

of activities we would do, to fill our days and make the most of my maternity leave. Of course at the time, I had no idea that i was harvesting the most frustrated, impatient, short fused baby on this earth.
Soon after my first was born, it was only five months later that I fell pregnant again with my son Preston.

I think that time around my expectations were a lot more realistic, in what I was going to be able to achieve, having two babies under two.
Here is a small list of my expectations for my first baby, and the reality of what actually happened, and how I failed miserably.
1. Expectation:
Having a summer baby meant I…

March favourites – domestic goddess essentials & more!

This is the very reason why no one buys me perfume anymore as it’s a “waste of money” because I don’t wear it. Anyhoo this perfume was bought in October 2017 and I’m nearly finished the bottle! So yes if you want a gorgeous floral perfume that’s also very sweet, perfect for the spring this is a gorgeous scent, a little on the pricey side but worth it. I don’t usually go for very sweet perfumes but this calms down quite a bit once it has settled in and it’s a very fresh and sensual scent.

Trilogy Rosehip oil

I recently heard about the many benefits of rosehip oil from one of my fav vloggers and thought I’d give it a try. She had recently purchased it as she was recommended it by her friend (celeb) ferne McCann, who swore by the product. I thought I would give it a try as my skin has been lacking a bit of life recently, central heating and not drinking enough has certainly dried it out. Now your meant to put it on everyday, but hands up who actually remembers to do it once a day? So I’ve applied it when I actually remember and I have certainly seen such a difference in my skin, I have a nice glow back. It’s a little pricey but worth it if you want beautiful skin like ferne McCann!!

Zoflora – bouquet

There seems to be a lot of hype surfacing the internet about this stuff! Who knew a cleaning product would get so much attention, so I thought I’d give it a go, I’m the typical YouTube/Instagram made me buy it type of girl. So i was instantly impressed with the price, you can grab this in Poundland for £1 so I stocked up on a couple of different scents and bouquet was certainly my fav. This stuff really does smell lovely. You dilute it with water, only need a small cap of it in water and you’re good to go. I used it in my spray mop, clean my bathroom and kitchen and my whole house smells fabulous. If you wash ur radiators with it and whack on the central heating your whole house smells gorgeous. A little tip for you if you want your house smelling nice when having guests over.

The white company Seychelles set

Well my lovely partner treated me to this lovely set on Mother’s Day. I have tried the hand cream previously and absolutely loved the smell, so when he asked me what I wanted for Mother’s Day I suggested he could buy me the hand cream, not expecting he would buy me the entire set. The set includes a candle, body cream, shower gel, hand wash and hand cream for £75 I believe. I absolutely love it and I never treat myself to luxury products especially hand creams and hand wash so was very thankful to receive such a lovely gift. The Seychelles range is lovely and smells divine. I’m using hand cream much more then I normally would, more because I’m addicted to smell and they come in lovely bottles that look very aesthetically pleasing in the kitchen by the sink.

Method all purpose cleaner – wild rhubarb

Right I’m going to try and shorten down the length of this description! I mean how much can you ramble on about a cleaning spray right?! If like me you buy a cleaning product based on how amazing it smells rather than it’s actual cleaning capabilities then buy this, it smells like rhubarb and custard sweets, which brings back such a sense of nostalgia. It’s also a very good all purpose cleaner that seems much gentler then some of the harsh chemicals you can buy, for this reason I use it a lot on the kids high chairs etc.

Pukka – three mint tea

So I’ve been suffering a lot with my hormones lately and read that spearmint tea is very good for hormonal balancing. So I couldn’t actually find a spearmint herbal tea but I did find the pukka three mint tea, which has spearmint, peppermint and fieldmint. I initially didn’t expect to like it, as it obviously smells just like a chewing gum, but was pleasantly surprised by its very smooth texture and refreshing taste and the health benefits also appealed to me. So I try and have one cup a day and it’s a nice substitute for regular tea and I’m trying to cut out dairy so win win I say!

I hope you liked reading my monthly favourites and I’m sorry they aren’t more exciting, but they are exciting to me! Since becoming a Mum these last few year, I must admit cleaning products excite me far more then they should!

Top tips to feel human being a busy full time mummy!!

Ella, baby and me

Sometimes I find it hard not to feel like I’ve let myself go since having the little ones. I’ve only been a mummy for two years and 4 months, and in that time I have managed to create two humans, go me right?
But since having the children I just don’t feel like me anymore, I don’t feel as pretty as I used to feel, i don’t feel as sexy as I sometimes used to feel, I used to feel quite proud of myself and what I’d accomplished in life. Now I feel like everything I do isn’t enough, does anybody else feel that way?
Now I know my face hasn’t completely changed since having children, but I look back at photos of myself when my eldest was only a few months old, and my skin looks more vibrant, I look a lot younger, even know it’s only been two…

Mummy friends v’s non mummy friends!…. how my behaviour differs!

Are there things you do with your mummy friends that you wouldn’t necessarily do with ur non mummy friends, if So what are they…

Ella, baby and me

Here is a list of things, I probably wouldn’t do with my non mummy friends out of fear of judgement, and just the fact that they probably wouldn’t understand…..

Talking about poo!

Unfortunately the stereotype that all new mums talk about is poo, is actually true. I have a 19month old and two year old, both still in nappies so I change a lot of poo on a day to day basis. Sending pictures of your children’s poo to ur mummy friends to ask “does this look normal?” Is a regular occurrence and receiving poo pics from others becomes the norm. Not half hour ago my little boy leaked poo from his nappy onto my jeans…. poo is life!

Admitting to still being in my pjs early afternoon and not showering that day….

So some days getting my ass in gear, especially when I have two poorly children, can…
